JOHOR BARU, July 30 - The Johor police will reveal the motive behind the abduction and abduction of six-year-old Albertine Leo Jia Hui after investigators have completed investigations.

Johor police chief M Kumar said appropriate steps have been taken to ensure that the ongoing investigation is not compromised.

“Every act of crime must have a motive.

"The police have remanded the suspect and I will update from time to time," he said at the Johor police contingent headquarters today.

At this point, Kumar said the investigation is still on and he does not want to divulge anything to jeopardize the investigation.

He said it would also interfere with the investigation process.

In Albertine's health report, Kumar said the child is reported to be safe and has no physical injuries.

"The victim was found safe and unhurt," he said, adding that the success in solving Albertine's kidnapping case was a significant achievement for the Johor police.

Yesterday, the 31-year-old male suspect who was arrested with the victim at a budget hotel room in Batang Kali, Selangor on July 23 was remanded until this Sunday.

Four other suspects, two men and two women aged 28 and 55, have been released on police bail.

Earlier, four people were remanded for four days until last Friday as the remand period was not extended.

On July 20, Albertine was reported missing around 8.30pm while at a Bon Odori Festival event at the shopping centre.

After her disappearance, police arrested four primary suspects and reclassified the missing person's report to a kidnapping.
