More than 200 U.S. troops have conducted urban operations training with Finnish troops, learning strategic skills from each other to conduct smooth operations with partner countries. The training is part of the Finnish Summer Exercise, a training exercise that is conducted at various bases across Finland, from the end of June to September.

“Finland has been great. We appreciate hospitality. From a military standpoint, training has been exceptional. The Guard Jagger Regiment was very sympathetic to any of us, "said US Army Lieutenant Colonel Jacob Tepleski, Commander of the 4th Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry.

During practice, U.S. engineers and sappers conducted training on violations, destruction, and they learned how to use Finnish type charges that they had never experienced before, Teplesky said. The primary mission of the Guard Jagger Regiment is to train soldiers for urban operations. These troops will defend the capital as part of a wartime unit formed by the regiment.

"It's very important, the cooperation between the Finnish and US forces. I think you will see, we continue to expand these exercises throughout the summer as ... We move from squad and platoon level to battalion command post practice, we fly our unmanned aerial systems and we shoot a mechanical gun, ”Teplesky said.

The 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division is among the other units assigned to the 1st Infantry Division, proudly working with regional security partners to provide combat-reliable forces to the V Corps, the American forward deployed corps in Europe.
